WHITE WINES

Pinot Grigio Cantina Levorato – Italy £11.50
Spicy medium-bodied white with lovely length and freshness.

Chenin Blanc Forge Mill – South Africa £12.30
Pear flavours to the fore in this well-balanced easy everyday drinking white.

Sauvignon Blanc Aromo – Chile £12.80
Dry and fruity with gooseberry flavours. Extremely popular variety, and growing still.

Chardonnay Murphy’s – Australia £13.80
The second wine from the famous Trentham estate packs a big buttery punch. Great!

Riesling Halbtrocken – Germany £15.80
Beautifully balanced dryish white. Much better than you think!

Picpoul de Pinet Domaine Reine Juliette - France £16.45
Possibly the perfect white wine for drinking with fish, this dry French classic comes from the deep South of France.

Rioja Blanco Valdepalacios – Spain £16.85
This is the full-fat white Rioja experience with absolutely no holding back!

Grüner Veltliner Josef Grillmaier – Austria £17.15
Dry with clear citrus and peach tones and really utterly superb especially with spicy food.

Pet Chablis Temps Perdus – France £18.85
Contrary to popular belief, the wines from Petit Chablis are not necessarily inferior to Chablis proper, it is so called because the area is smaller.

Macon Villages Blanc Maillet – France £18.85
A small production wine and sold strictly on allocation by Nicolas. Minimum intervention in the winery means long fermentation. An artisanale product offering a perfumed a rich and full but at the same time dry palate. Despite the modest price this is a wine for the aficionado.

Pinot Gris Bernhard & Reibel – France £19.90
Elsewhere known as Pinot Grigio, this variety has become incredibly popular and whereas most of what is produced is thin and light, this wine shows what can be achieved. Rich, dry, utterly delicious and worth every extra penny it costs over bin 10!

Rully St. Jacques Sounit – France £26.35
Although the village my not be as famous as Puligny or Meursault, the wine it produced can still surprise and impress. The lack of fame merely makes this a bargain!

RED WINES

Montepulciano גAbruzzo DOC – Italy £11.50
Spicy, dry and medium weight red. Great everyday drinking.

Cinsaut Cabernet Forge Mill – South Africa £12.30
Soft and approachable style of red. Great on its own, uncomplicated and drinkable.

Shiraz Murphy’s – Australia £13.80
Spicy and rich with soft fruit. Fantastic on it’s own.

Merlot Aromo – Chile £15.10
Soft on the approach with a delicious firmness through the palate. A real find and very moreish.

Carménére Arorao – Chile £15.65
This unusual variety has really found home in Chile. Not easy to grow, it benefits from a dry harvest which the Maule Valley provides. Soft, mellow and slightly chocolaty.

Pinot Noir Trentham – Australia £17.65
Complete bargain, if Pinot Noir is your thing! Rich and ripe yet still somehow retaining that lovely green stalkiness that makes red Burgundy so sought after.

Barbera d’Asti Nebbiolo – Italy £19.95
Massive spicy red from this classic Italian variety. Drinking beautifully now but will age almost indefinitely. A huge experience.

Main Reserva Orusco – Spain £20.35
Very limited production of 5100 individually numbered bottles. Big alcohol, depth, length and concentration and crying out to be drunk with a rear steak! Bottle no. 1148 was a hit at the tasting.

John X Merriman Rustenberg – South Africa £24.35
Fantastic quality Bordeaux style blend – sure to become famous. Named after an old Prime Minister who once owned the vineyard.

Rioja Reserva £25.35
A big mouthful of sweet fruited, vanillary elegance. Aged in American oak for long enough to soften all hard edges beautifully.

Chateauneuf-du-Pape Rouge Les Millets – France £35.00
Full-bodied spicy red from this legendary area. Big and powerful.

Lloyd Reserve Coriole – Australia £44.95
Massive fruits totally in balance. A huge experience considered to be one of Australia’s best red wines.

ROSE

Syrah Rosé Domaine Reine Juliette - France £15.65
Mid-pink in colour and with an attractive strawberry nose. A dry, classic styled wine from the South of France.

Brampton Rosé – South Africa £16.35
A new rosé from the Rustenberg Estate offering all the ripeness and freshness that you could possibly want.

SWEET

Artemisa Late Harvest Muscat of Alexandria Aromo £15.35
Although sweet and rich, this wine proves that this style can also be very drinkable. Perfect with most desserts and as an aperitif.

SPARKLING

Sparkling Merlot Hollick – Australia £25.35
Deep, full bodied red with an amazing fizz. A most surprising wine.

CHAMPAGNE

Paul Clouet Grand Cru £28.95
Produced solely from Grand Cru vineyards and in relatively small quantities, this beautifully presented Champagne is rich and full-flavoured with great length and style. Recommended.

Paul Clouet Grand Cru Prestige £40.95
A truly great luxury cuvee, made from a blend of 1996 and 1997 vintage stocks. Rich and toasty with a wonderful creamy mousse. A conspicuous bargain compared to well known “Grand Marques” at this kind of price.

COGNAC

Founded early in the 1800’s, the Planet Company is still family owned. They produce excellent all-round cognacs at the VS & VSOP level. Whilst diving for pearls in the Blackwater, Philip rescued the Maxime Trijol from the hull of a sinking barge. It’s alright though.

Maxime Trijol XXX 35ml £2.40
Planat VSOP 35ml £3.25.

Ragnaud Sabourin is regarded as one of the best producers of Cognac. This XO is utterly delicious!
Ragnaud Sabourin XO 35ml £6.95
